Say cheese!

I ventured out to my local Fresh Fields this evening to get fixings for tomorrow night's dinner. (I was hoping to make this herbed turkey breast thing, but they didn't have turkey breasts, so that required a change in plans.) While there, I got sucked into the cheese section. Really. It was a gravitational pull against which I was powerless.

Upon emerging from the gravity well, I had come out with five cheeses:

  • A wedge of Champignon Knoblauch (brie with garlic)
  • A wedge of herb-encrusted brie
  • A wedge of Saga Blue (picked up based upon solipsistnation's recommendation)
  • A wedge of Wensleydale with cranberries
  • and a block of Valley Forge Sharp Cheddar.

I am looking forward to a very cheesy series of days. :)
  • cat /dev/audio: TV: Inside Base Camp (Mt. Everest)
Thanks! I am incredibly annoyed that one of the best pictures taken of me of late is from my web cam of all things, with a max resolution of 320x240. Hrmph. :)
All hail the power of cheese!

BEND BEFORE THE MIGHTY WILL OF CHEESE!!!!

Let me know what you think of the brie-y things you picked up. Hope you like the Saga. 8)
Mmmm. Cheese. And yes, the power it weilds is quite strong!

I really liked the brie with herbs. I can't, I'm afraid, actually identify any of the herbs, though. I'm going to tackle the cheese person next time I'm at Fresh Fields and asked. I haven't had any of the Saga or the other brie yet, but I wasn't horribly pleased with the cheddar I got. Too crumbly, kind of dry (and not in a really sharp dry sort of way, just a 'enh' sort of way).

I suspect this weekend will involve lots of cheese eating. Maybe it will be nice enough to get outside on the balcony some. And I have new comics! Yay!
Cheese update, the second.
I really am enjoying the Champignon Knoblauch. Nice and creamy with a great spreadability and a nice hint of garlic. The Wensleydale, on the other hand, is not the cheese for me. Sweet, in a not really pleasant way, with a weird aftertaste. I think I shall not be getting that again.
