DAMNIT.

I just can't win.

The vet called this morning. It seems that the nurse that packet bit yesterday had a doctor's appointment last night. The doctor saw the bite, and asked, and one thing led to another, and now I have to take packet to the vet to be quarantined for 10 days, because I had let her rabies shot lapse.

I know. I'm a moron. In my defense, if packet ever went outdoors or ever interacted with other animals, I would have been more diligent about keeping her shots up to date. But she doesn't, on either count, and so I didn't.

DAMNIT.

The nurse did, however, do a very nice thing for me and lie to her doctor and say that packet was already at the vet's, because otherwise, they were going to come seize packet at home last night. It seems there's a state investigation on its way, too.

And did I mention, DAMNIT?
