Help, help! The sky is falling!

Well, maybe not, but I just realized that I ate three times today.

I realized around 12:30 or so that I was actually hungry, and was completely baffled as to what to do with this state. Fortunately, the abuse folks were planning on going to lunch around then, so I went along with them. (Hint: The portabello mushroom burger at Fuddruckers is a beef burger with mushrooms on it. You have been warned.) I had a chicken sandwich there, and onion rings.

Then, while Torque and Nyarla and I were killing time before the movie tonight started, Torque and I split a ham & swiss wrap at the bar, and I had a beer.

And, I just had half of a baked potato.

Seeing red.

So, I can't seem to find the hair dye that I've been using for the last year or more in the stores any more. This is very frustrating, since it was the first dye that I've found that actually dyes my hair red, instead of giving me red highlights. Even more frustrating is the fact that the manufacturer's web page still lists it (#49: Beyond Cherry). I'm sure it's out there somewhere, but, for some reason, my brain decided that I really really needed to redye my hair today. (Yes, roots are showing, but that happens like a week after I dye my hair, my hair grows so fast.) So, I picked up some L'Oreal Excellence HiColor, which is made for dark hair.

Now, those of you who have played along at home for quite a while might remember that I've had a wide variety of reactions to hair dyes. Anything from, "Huh? There were chemicals in my hair?" to "I think I've lost all the skin on my head." So, I'm kind of nervous about switching hair dyes. But hey, it's already been sitting in my hair for 20 minutes, and I still have 10 to go, so I guess it's a bit too late to worry about such things now. Plus, I know where my Benadryl Gel is (good stuff, that). (At least, I think I do.)

Also, why the hell do I keep dyeing my hair in the middle of the night? This is not the best idea in the world. Hrmph.

Oh yeah, and I'm out of latex gloves. I knew I should have picked up more today while I was at Sally's. Ah well, I shall make a note.

Doings and goings.

Last night, I dragged Torque and Nyarla in to Visions to see Blind Spot: Hitler's Secretary. We met up with vvalkryi and badmagic just before the movie started. (Good to see vvalkryi again, even if only for a bit. I shall have to try to not let another five years or so pass before seeing her again.)

The general consensus of the film seemed to be, "Interesting subject matter, but the presentation felt flat." It was basically, "put camera on tripod, record woman talking for several hours / days, edit." But, it was interesting.

While killing time for the movie to start, Torque and I sat in the bar and talked for a bit, and I learned more interesting things about him. The boy has all sorts of things about him that I've known nothing about for the ... what? 5 years? that I've worked with him. I'm glad we've started hanging out and talking more.

On the drive to and from the movie, Nyarla and I tortured Torque with pretty much the entirety of Rap Replinger's Poi Dog with Crabs album. I mean, Nyarla and I were rolling around, but I don't know how funny Rap's stuff is to someone who isn't from Hawaii. He put up with it with good grace, though. :)

After depositing Torque back at his car, I took Nyarla home, and she spent the drive going through the Hawaiian music playlist on the iPod. She, of course, pounced on three of the feel-good, homesick-making songs of Hawaii, and she and I blasted the songs and sang along, and sniffled.

Of course, I am now horribly horribly homesick. It's been about 2 years since I've been home, and that seems to be about the maximum interval I can deal with before going crazy. *sigh*
