Heh. I know two Mary Alderdices (my grandmother is one), and three M. Alderdices (my grandmother, and my uncle Michael). I wonder how accurate this even comes close to being.

And... boys named Mary? Eep.

Oops.

I have been bad. I have not been wearing my wrist splints. Erk. And I've been having no luck sleeping without them. I'm sure things won't improve with them.

Gonna be one of those days.

I woke up in a bad mood today. Work stuff looms, and I am frustrated by the fact that I have to sit on people to get things done. One would think that the threat of being sat upon by me would be sufficient reason to do things without prodding, but no.

I have too much to do today, on the work front, the personal front, the medical front. Too many things piling up, and not enough energy to face all of it. But, it has to be done, you know? So there's nothing to do but to plod on, and try to keep my head above water.

"We shall endeavor to persevere."

I think I just used up all of my karma.

I just brushed packet. And lived. Am, actually, completely unharmed. Of course, I prepared for this event by dressing in jeans and a thick shirt. (After a brief abortive attempt where I was wearing shorts and a velvet shirt. Do not brush a long-haired cat while wearing a velvet shirt, unless you want a long-haired-cat-shirt.)

I used a cunning ploy, wherein I situated pounce such that packet had to come close to me to get it, and each time she did, I would swipe at her with the dematting brush. So, the two big mats from where she can't reach herself on her back are gone, and she is stoned on Pounce and catnip, and I don't have to feel like an evil pet owner for having a cat walk around with tribbles on her back.

Yay!

However, in order to make up for the fortuitous lack of seemingly inevitable injury, I think I shall have to sit perfectly still for the rest of the week, lest an anvil drop from the skies and squoosh me, or a train derails in my path, or some such.

A plan, maybe?

So, uh, it seems that the sniper might have wandered down to Virginia. This fails to make me feel comfy and safe. Can I just go stay with someone in Massachusetts until they catch him / her / them? "Dear Jason, I will be working out of Massachusetts until the sniping stops. Love, meri."
