Dentists == pain.

Even when they don't mean physical pain, they mean pain. In this particular case, fiscal pain. Somehow, my brain had decided that, when I paid $200 when I got the root canal done, I had paid for the whole shebang. So, it definitely came as something as a surprise when, at the end of my appointment during the 'pay and schedule your next appointment' time, the pleasant young man behind the desk said, "Six hundred and sixty dollars, please."

Ow. Pain.

Yup. That time of year.

It's getting darker earlier, and it's finally starting to cool down. That wonderful time of year when the leaves start changing color, I start pulling out the sweaters, and we start fiddling with the thermostat to make sure that we will never actually be comfortable in our apartment. And, when my brain decides that it's time to sleep until spring. I mean, I really love the weather, and that's saying something, considering I thought I was going to die during my first mainland winter. But, I think all those years of Hawaiian sunshine have made me particularly succeptible to feeling low and tired during the darker, cooler months. I really need to figure out if there's some way around this, as I'd love to be able to have my body and my brain greet the coming of the fall with glee.
