Erg.

Ok. I need to go shower (I really need to go shower), and then go try to pass out. It is not anywhere near my normal bedtime, but we have to get up early tomorrow, as tomorrow is going to suck, and like all days that must suck, it has to start early. Whee.

I am so not awake.

This is an act. I'm not really here. I am really still in bed, asleep, and not nearly as sore as I appear to be, were I really here.

Schroedinger's staff meeting.

For those of you who don't know, I am the keeper of the weekly staff meetings. I send out the notices, I take the notes, I run the meetings. The only portion of this process for which I am not responsible is deciding whether or not we are having the staff meeting. That is up to my boss. He's been traveling quite a bit for the last month, so our staff meetings have been rather sporadic for the last few weeks.

I sent mail to him on Friday, then resent it on Sunday, then tried pinging him on IRC and via AIM today, and haven't received any response. Our staff meeting normally takes place a 3PM, during which time two of the nine people who normally are in the meetings will be busy moving one of the news servers, another one will be at school, and we're still not sure about my boss.

Do I schedule the meeting? Call it off? Just go to the office and see what happens? Argh!

Wagh!

I was emptying out the bag that I cram full of stuff to take out onto the balcony with me (yes, I take a bag out onto the balcony; really, this shouldn't surprise you), and I pulled out a horribly inflated crossword puzzle book. "Hrm. That can't be good." Then I realized that I'd left a bottle of water in the bag, and that it apparently hadn't been sealed all that well. Well, foodle. The next thing I pulled out of the bag was Strangers in Paradise: Volume 11, and it was about 3x the original size. Hrmph.

Luckily, the comic book store still has it in stock, so I can go pick it up, but still, hrmph.

Oh. Heh.

Someone pointed out to me that I could always call my boss and ask him about the staff meeting. "... Oh yeah!" It had honestly never occurred to me.

And the verdict? No staff meeting! Yay!

I want to sleep!

I am very tired. I slept very poorly last night, and I am in the office with the white noise, and the lights that give me headaches, and I just ate, and I am very very sleepy. And they took out the bunk room here at the office when I wasn't looking, and it is now a place where they store paper, which is not sounding like such a good place to sleep. And we can't go home, because they are still putting the news server back together from the moving of today, and we don't even know if it will work once it gets put back together, so we might have to stay longer. And I am very sleepy. I think I will take one of the bazillion stuffed animals in here and use that as a pillow and stretch out on my office floor. Snoozy meri.

Whiiiiiine.

I wanna go home! I wanna sleep! I want my boss to call me back so I can get more news move scheduled! I want tickets for Purgatory to not be expensive already! I want to finish cleaning the apartment! I want to not be tired! I want my friends to not be stressing! I want to have better music to be available to me at work! I want to not be at work! I want to stop whining!

I should be cleaning...

...but I have no will. It went out the window. I came home and was stressy about finding my boss, because I needed him to approve something tonight. And that occupied my brain for far longer at far too high a priority to allow me to do anything worthwhile. And then, the dramatic calm that came over me once I found him and got everything taken care of has left me in a little tired heap that doesn't want to deal with trivial things like laundry or straightening the bathroom. But, the maids are coming tomorrow, and I really really want to have the place in good shape for them (really, this makes sense, I swear), so I should probably get on the ball.

Wah.

Baby steps.

Ok, so it hasn't been a completely useless evening, I guess. I've done a couple of loads of laundry. I've swapped the little wooshy fan next to my desk for the big WOOSHY (but too loud to use at night) fan from the bedroom, so hopefully both areas will be more tolerable after this. I've put away the huge bag of random bathroom stuff that's been accumulating in the living room (don't ask; I really needed to stockpile hair dye). I've sorted out the rest of the laundry to be done tomorrow (4 loads, I think). I've found and put away the stash of freaky Japanese sodas. I've filled the candy dish in the living room (more freaky Japanese stuff). I have not put away, nor done, the dishes, but I'm not up to that tonight.

I think there was some other stuff, but I'm not remembering it. All in all, not a great deal done, but little bits, and I'm getting to the point where even little bits make noticable differences. I'm pretty confident in being able to go away Thursday and leaving a reasonably clean apartment behind me.

And now that the place is getting clean again, maybe I can call the apartment complex without having fits of "They're going to throw us out!" and get them to fix some of the things that have been kind of broken around here. The refrigerator that sounds like it's going through death throes every time the compressor kicks in. The drawer in the bathroom that is completely off its runners. The light in the master bedroom closet that has never worked in the 5 years we've lived here. The fluourescent tubes in the kitchen that are fizzled out, and replacing the tubes doesn't seem to fix it. Little things, but things that would make life a little easier. (Being able to see in the closet where I keep all our clothes for instance. That would be nifty.)

But there was a point here. Oh yeah. Getting things done, slowly. The big push this weekend got the majority of it done, which was nice. Now, I have the little things. Of course, in this whole discussion, you will notice that I have not once mentioned the computer room. There's a reason for that. :) That room is a project all on its own. 2 bathrooms, kitchen, pantry / laundry room, and the master bedroom. Those are my targets... this time around.

And now I'm babbling. So I will stop, I think. Once this load of laundry is done drying, I will put it up, then go collapse into bed and read myself to sleep. This sounds like a plan. Hopefully, that will be soon. Aren't I exciting?
